Although Simmi has stopped the bouts of screaming she was doing, she is still being very needy and clingy. She is still losing her balance but is learning to compensate I think by her new way of walking. I’d like to get really good footage of her on a good day, because on a good day she will lift her right or left leg much higher (kind of like a horse) and have it come down harder. I may also get bells for her shoes so that she will pay attention more to her feet while walking. If she’s very, very motivated, she pays attention to where she is stepping. While outside, Dom has taken her through different types of terrain which causes her to look down more and pay attention. It really shouldn’t be this difficult. In a few months she will have been walking for a whole year. I think the thing that gets me concerned is her shifting weight from one leg to the other and also her taking steps backwards before going forwards.
Today Miss Sharon, her therapist came and Simmi did pretty good with her. I’ll post the footage I took of the session tomorrow.
I get little moments here and there to film her and the video below was taken the other day when she was in a good mood. It beats the screaming…I’ll give you that much!
